Accessibility Statement
District Administration, South Tripura is committed to ensuring that the JAGRATA Portal is accessible to all users, regardless of technology, device, or ability. It has been built with an aim to provide maximum accessibility and usability to all visitors, including citizens with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, and neurological disabilities.
The portal has been developed in strict accordance with the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0) and complies with Level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
Accessibility Features of this Portal
- Skip to Main Content: Quick keyboard shortcut link at the top of every page allowing screen reader and keyboard users to bypass repetitive header navigation.
- Text Resizing (A- / A / A+): Citizens can adjust font size scaling dynamically to suit their visual comfort; preferences are saved across visits.
- High Contrast Mode: An instant high-contrast dark theme (yellow/white on high-contrast black) for users with low vision or photophobia.
- Alternative Text (ALT): Non-text content including images, logos, and banners have meaningful text alternatives.
- Consistent Navigation: Navigation mechanisms and naming conventions are consistent throughout the entire portal.
- Form Accessibility: All citizen input fields, grievance boxes, and submission forms have explicit labels, error notifications, and ARIA attributes.
- Responsive Design: Fully responsive layouts that adapt cleanly from desktop screens down to mobile smartphones without losing content or functionality.
